Feast of Sojourning

Life on earth is temporary. Covenants are eternal. Joy flows from unity with God.

Feast of Sojourning

Understanding the Feast

The purpose of this feast is to remember that we are only on this earth for a time and that our objective while here is to live so we might be worthy for the Messiah and God the Father may dwell with us in person.

As a household becomes of one heart and one mind through righteous covenant living, it begins to take on a heavenly order. When a family becomes Zion within itself, God dwells with that family, as He did with Enoch—walking with them, sanctifying them, and making them His dwelling place.

The Feast of Sojourning reminds us that life on earth is temporary, covenants are eternal, and joy flows from unity with God expressed through obedience, gratitude, and righteousness.

How to Observe

The Feast of Sojourning is lived, not merely observed. A temporary shelter is built, and for seven days the family eats daily meals within it as a reminder of the temporary nature of mortal life. The shelter is decorated with harvest fruits and symbols of thanksgiving.

This season is marked by rejoicing in the gift of earth life, shared with family and friends. Through the Feast of Sojourning, the family learns this enduring truth: God desires to dwell with us, and we rejoice in His provision.
